Apollo’s Insulin Tablet Makes the News

The Bulletin
Apollo continued to attract attention with its oral insulin – with an article in the national magazine, The Bulletin.

The article, appearing in one of Australia’s best business journals, means that Apollo is on the radar.

Titled "Shot Topic", the story said that clinical trials of Apollo’s Oradel™ technology could put an "end to injections (which) is one of the great aims of diabetes research."

Quoting Apollo CEO, John Priest, the article said that "In our pre-clinical studies, the oral insulin has performed exceedingly well. It has taken insulin down to normal levels in diabetic animals and been able to hold it there for eight to 24 hours," he said.

"The end result of that is a tablet a day."

He added that trials of the Oradel™ / insulin therapy will reach Phase 2 with 18 months, "faster than a typical trial because the delivery system, not the drug, is being tested," The Bulletin reported.
