| Apollo launches into Myer with new skincare range leveraging Intradel™ technology to generate revenue |
"Your beauty is a gift that our science maintains" | Apollo Applied Science Pty Ltd, the over-the-counter (OTC) marketing division of biopharmaceutical company Apollo Life Sciences, last week launched a unique range of advanced skincare products to be sold in Myer stores throughout Australia.
Apollo's Ellipse Skin Science products use the company's patented Intradel™ nano-technology as well as micro-droplet emulsion and oil / water cream emulsion technologies to provide superior skincare protection and rejuvenation.
Apollo's Intradel™ technology is used to deliver nano-sized water droplets, which carry ingredients that protect and rejuvenate skin, deep into the skin.
"We view the Myer order for Ellipse Skin Science products as a major endorsement of Apollo's Intradel™ technology. To add freshness to the marketplace, department stores are always looking for new cosmetic products that use technologies that are different to old brands – Apollo's range of Ellipse Skin Science products has successfully addressed this need," said Mr Cakovski, General Manager of Apollo's OTC Marketing Division.
According to Mr Cakovski, most skincare creams on the market today are a simple mixture of oil and water that rarely penetrate beyond the surface layers of the skin.
"To effectively moisturise the skin and reduce the visible appearance of wrinkles and cellulite, you need to deliver ingredients deep into the skin," said Mr Cakovski.
Apollo's Head of Drug Delivery Dr Michael Luke explained that the company's Intradel™ nano-droplets are up to ten times smaller than oil droplets contained in regular creams and their distinctive composition allows them to squeeze through the skin.
"The components of Intradel™ which force the water into nano-droplets are made of biocompatible and biodegradable ingredients commonly used in foods, and are approved by the US Food and Drug Administration," added Dr Luke.
"Apollo is using cutting edge nano-technology to deliver skincare ingredients to the site of action," said Dr Luke.
Apollo CEO John Priest said the adaptability of Intradel™ will allow Apollo to generate cash flow while the company progresses clinical trials of its needle-free therapeutic drugs which are designed to treat diseases such as psoriasis and rheumatoid arthritis.
"Apollo is continually exploring innovative ways to commercialise its unique topical delivery technologies," said Mr Priest.
